Song of the moment… Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton – Winning
February 5th, 2010
(Open your chest and take the heart from it.
When you talk, can I tape you?
How’d you get what we don’t know?
We don’t know how to help,
Only know how to hound.)

Song of the moment… Air – Alone in Kyoto
December 15th, 2009
Alone in Kyoto is probably my all-time favorite piece by Air. It’s part of their album Talkie Walkie and it’s also included in the Lost in translation soundtrack. It’s dreamy, hypnotising and calming and it makes me wanna close my eyes and imagine.

Song of the moment… No surprises – Radiohead
December 6th, 2009
This song is part of the compilation of awesomeness that is OK Computer, to many, Radiohead’s best album. I’ve been listening to it quite frequently in the past weeks,1 and I think what always draws me to this song in particular is the surprising combination of a music that might as well be used for a lullaby, and such heartbreaking and intense lyrics. Yet another evidence of the genius that is Radiohead.

Song of the moment… Across the universe – Fiona Apple / Rufus Wainwright
November 27th, 2009
I’m a huge fan of The Beatles, and if I listen to a version of any of their songs, chances are that I’m going to automatically dread it.1 Surprisingly enough, I adore the two versions of Across the universe (both made for movie soundtracks)2 that I’ve listened to. I don’t if it’s because I love both Fiona Apple and Rufus Wainwright but truth is they both have managed to make the song their own, without losing that dream-like quality of the original.

Song of the moment… Charlotte Gainsbourg – The operation
September 3rd, 2009I’ve had this whole on repeat in my mp3 player for the past few days. I pretty much love every Charlotte Gainsbourg (new album next year!
) song, but this one in particular has always seemed very sexy to me. The video clip, which I hadn’t seen until a couple of days ago, is, of course, no less. Watch and judge:
Song of the moment… Travis – Flowers in the window
August 27th, 2009This has always been one my favorite Travis’ songs, probably because of the memories it brings along. It sounds like summer, lazy afternoons and laughs. I think I’m nostalgic today XD
